Luckily, most stink bugs do not bite and instead use their unpleasant smell as their form of defense. It is not impossible that they could bite a human but it is very unlikely as they do not seek out humans or pets the way that mosquitoes do. Stink bugs have a mouth designed to pierce and suck on things like fruit, flowers, soybeans, sorghum, grasses, and insects.
You still may not want to pick them up with your hands because they will likely emit their foul smell upon being touched and it can be hard to get the smell off of your hands. Some stink bugs may even cause an allergic reaction in some people. So while you may not have to worry about a stink bug biting you, the smell they give off can be worse!
